Hannah Louise Mills , MBE (born February 29, 1988 in Cardiff ) is a British sailor from Wales .

successes

Hannah Mills took part in two Olympic Games . In 2012 she and Saskia Clark in London finished second in the 470 dinghy with a total of 51 points behind the New Zealand and ahead of the Dutch boat, thus securing the silver medal. At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , she managed to win another medal with Clark, when she was Olympic champion this time with 44 points ahead of New Zealanders Jo Aleh and Olivia Powrie . At world championships she won the silver medal with Clark in the 470 dinghy in Perth in 2011 , before the two succeeded in winning the title in Barcelona the following year . This was followed by winning bronze in 2014 in Santander and silver in 2015 in Haifa . After the 2016 Games, Mills formed a team with Eilidh McIntyre and secured silver in Thessaloniki in 2017 , bronze in Aarhus in 2018 and gold in Enoshima in 2019 .

At the end of 2016, like Saskia Clark, she was named a member of the Order of the British Empire for her Olympic success . In the same year, the world association named World Sailing Mills and Clark as World Sailors of the Year .
