Belinda Josephine Marion Stowell , AOM (born May 28, 1971 in Salisbury , Rhodesia ) is a former Australian sailor .
successes
Belinda Stowell took part in three Olympic Games in the 470 dinghy . At the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney she went to the start with Jenny Armstrong , with whom she won four of the regatta's eleven races. With 33 points, they took first place in front of the US and the Ukrainian boat and thus became Olympic champions . Four years later they did not get past 14th place in Athens . In 2012 in London Stowell sailed with Elise Rechichi , they reached seventh place. At world championships , Stowell won the silver medal together with Armstrong in 2000 and 2001.
For her Olympic success, Stowell received the Australia Order Medal in 2001 .
