Mitchell Jay "Mitch" Booth (born January 4, 1963 in Sydney ) is an Australian - Dutch sailor .
successes
Mitch Booth competed four times in the Olympic Games in the Tornado boat class . On his Olympic debut in Barcelona in 1992 , he and John Forbes immediately won the bronze medal when they finished third behind the French and the US boat with 44.4 points overall. Four years later , Booth started in Atlanta with Andrew Landenberger and secured the silver medal with him. Their 42 total points were enough for the Spanish duo José Luis Ballester and Fernando León to come second . Between the 1996 and 2004 gamesBooth changed the association and from then on sailed internationally under the Dutch flag. At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens , he was fifth with Herbert Dercksen , as well as in 2008 in Beijing alongside Pim Nieuwenhuis .
In 1989 in Houston and in 1992 in Perth Booth became world champion together with John Forbes , and they also secured silver in Long Beach in 1993 . Between 1994 and 2007 he also won bronze four times with different partners. At European Championships he also took the podium several times, in 1996 he won the title once.
