Philippa Claire "Pippa" Wilson , MBE (born February 7, 1986 in Southampton ) is a former British sailor .

successes

Pippa Wilson took part in the boat class Yngling at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing . Together with Sarah Webb , she was a crew member of helmsman Sarah Ayton and became Olympic champion with her when she was first thanks to 24 points ahead of the Dutch and the Greek. In 2007 in Cascais and in 2008 in Miami , Wilson, Ayton and Webb won the title at the World Championships , and in 2008 they also became European champions together. After the crew disbanded after the Olympic victory, Wilson first switched to the 470 dinghy and from 2013 to the Nacra 17 boat class .

For her Olympic success in 2008 she was appointed a member of the Order of the British Empire at the end of 2009 .
