Rafael Joaquín Trujillo Villar (born December 14, 1975 in La Línea de la Concepción ) is a former Spanish sailor .
successes
Rafael Trujillo took part in four Olympic Games . At the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney he took part in the Star boat class , in which he finished eighth with José van der Ploeg . Four years later he started in Athens with the Finn dinghy . He finished the regatta with 51 points in second place behind Ben Ainslie and won the silver medal. In 2008 he finished ninth in the Finn in Beijing, and in 2012 he reached eighth place . At world championships he won the silver medal in 2003 in Cadiz and 2010 in San Francisco , while he was world champion in Cascais in 2007 .
In the Volvo Ocean Race 2014-2015 he was a crew member of the yacht Mapfre , which took fourth place.
