Nathan Outteridge (born January 28, 1986 in Newcastle ) is an Australian sailor .
successes
Nathan Outteridge participated in three Olympic Games . In 2008 he started in Beijing with Ben Austin in the 49er dinghy and finished the competition in fifth place. Four years later he started with Iain Jensen , with whom he finished the regatta in first place in front of the New Zealand and Danish crews, making the two Olympic champions . At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , they finished second behind New Zealanders Peter Burling and Blair Tuke , thus securing the silver medal.
At world championships he won bronze with Ben Austin in Cascais in 2007 and became world champion in the 49er dinghy with him the following year. From 2009 he was with Iain Jensen three times world champion, twice vice world champion and third once in 2015. He won another silver medal in Aarhus in 2018 with his sister Hayley Outterridge in the boat class Nacra 17 . In 2013 and 2017 he was a crew member of Artemis Racing at the America's Cup .
