John McCarthy (2013)

John McCarthy (born June 27, 1961 in Toronto , Ontario ) is a Canadian composer .

Life

John McCarthy is the younger brother of Canadian actress Sheila McCarthy . After making his debut as a film composer for a feature film with his composition for love and other cruelties , McCarthy established himself with other music for films such as Invincible - The League of Invincible , Zebra Lounge and Tempo . From 1994 to 1996 he composed the music for 41 episodes of the television series Ein Mountie in Chicago , for which he was nominated for the Canadian Gemini Award in 1995 and 1996 . He received a Genie Award for his work on the film drama The Stone Angel .
