action

Nighttime time-lapse images of Paris are shown as the background to the opening credits . The film begins with a car chase scene. The events of the previous eight days are then shown in a long flashback .

The American Sarah lives in Paris and lives from smuggling antique art objects. She has a younger lover, Jack. While Sarah travels to Munich on behalf of Walter Shrenger , Jack begins a romantic relationship with the young American Jenny Travile, who works in a jewelry store. The girl in love shows him the jewelry secured in the store and unconsciously reveals the combination of numbers to him.

Sarah is robbed on the train. Since she cannot deliver the agreed goods, an old coin, she has to repay a larger sum to her boss. She is completely desperate and worries for her life. She tries unsuccessfully to get credit from acquaintances.

Sarah gets the idea that she and Jack could rob the jewelry store. He finally agrees, as the jewelry is insured anyway. Jack appears to break up with Sarah and move in with Jenny. One day Jenny overhears Jack talking to Sarah on the phone and tells her that everything is going according to plan . Jenny then becomes suspicious and shadows her lover.

Jenny surprises the two thieves in the shop and calls the police with the alarm button. Sarah forces her at gunpoint to get into the thieves' getaway car. In the car chase that followed, three officers were killed in an explosion in an accident. A little later, Jenny is dropped off at a remote location. Jack apologizes to her and drives away with Sarah.

When handing over the prey, however, it turns out that they are only copies. That's why Sarah and Jack are shot by Shrenger. When Jenny is interrogated by the police, it turns out that the original jewelry is still there. Jenny supposedly forgot to swap it out as usual in the evening.
