John Murphy (born December 15, 1984 in Jacksonville ) is an American racing cyclist .

Career

After Murphy won a stage in the Tour of Ohio in 2003 , he joined an international cycling team , the US team Jittery Joe's , for the first time in 2004 . In 2005 Murphy was successful on the second leg of the Valley of the Sun Stage Race . In 2008 Murphy won the overall ranking of the Tour de Taiwan as a member of the Health Net-Maxxis . In 2010 and 2011 he drove for the BMC Racing Team and competed among others. a. the Giro d'Italia 2010 , but could not finish the race. Murphy won numerous races on the US Cycling Federation's calendar, including the 2009 and 2014 Criteria Championship . In 2016 he won a stage each of the Herald Sun Tour and the Tour de Langkawi .
