John Mutai (marathon runner, 1966)
John Mutai (born May 26, 1966 ) is a Kenyan long-distance runner who specializes in the marathon .
In 1999 he won the Great North Run over the half marathon distance in 1:00:52 h and the Dublin Marathon . The following year he finished second in the Dubai Marathon in his personal best of 2:13:20 h. He finished fifth in Dubai in 2001 and 2002, fourth in Dublin in 2001 and fifth in the Mumbai Marathon in 2004 . A victory at the Edinburgh Marathon in 2004 was followed by a second place in the same place the following year.
From 2007 to 2009 he won the Belfast Marathon three times in a row .
