John Blunt

John Stumpf (* 1953 in Pierz , Minnesota ) is an American bank manager .

Life

Stump grew up with ten siblings on a farm in Minnesota. He holds degrees in finance from St. Cloud State University and the University of Minnesota . From 1982 he worked at Bank Norwest , which merged with Wells Fargo in 1998 . Stumpf has headed Wells Fargo since 2007 and was Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the bank until 2016 . He resigned on October 12, 2016 in connection with a fraud scandal.
