John Thynne, Viscount Weymouth

John Alexander Thynne, Viscount Weymouth (also Lord John Thynne ) (born November 29, 1895 , † February 13, 1916 with Hulluch ) was a British nobleman and soldier.

John Thynne came from the Thynne family . He was the eldest of Thomas Thynne and his wife Violet Mordaunt . His father inherited the title of Marquess of Bath in 1896 , whereupon John led the courtesy title Viscount Weymouth as title heir . He attended Winchester College . Shortly after the beginning of World War I, he began his officer training on August 15, 1914 at the Sandhurst Military Academy . He finished his training on December 15, 1914 and joined the Scots Grays regiment in York in January 1915 . Before October 20, 1915, he was transferred to the Western Front . With the rank of lieutenant he fell at Loos in northeastern France.

Thynne had remained unmarried. After his death, his younger brother Henry became his father's heir.
