Johnny Cash - The Man in Black is a jukebox musical that the life story of American Country - singer Johnny Cash says. For the piece, the lyrics of the songs were partially adapted to the plot.

The plot

After the death of his second wife June Carter , Cash looks back on his life; he remembers his childhood and youth full of privation on his parents' farm in Arkansas , the meeting with his first wife Vivian and the time with the Air Force .

The second act describes the collaboration with the Tennessee Two and the producer Sam Phillips as well as the relationship with June Carter, his pill addiction and his comeback .
