Johnny Kay

John Kapustinski called Johnny Kay (born December 27, 1922 in New Britain , Connecticut , † August 10, 2008 in Marlboro , Connecticut) was an American racing car driver .

Career

Kay was a very successful midget car driver and won victories and championships in various classes and competitions. In the AAA National Series , he started in five races between 1953 and 1959. His best result was a seventh place, achieved in 1955 on the Syracuse race track in a Kurtis Kraft - Offenhauser .

For the Indianapolis 500 mile race , he was unable to qualify in three attempts between 1953 and 1956.

Kay also worked as a racing photographer.
