The Johnson Mesa is a large mesa in the north of the West Antarctic James Ross Island . On the Ulu Peninsula, it rises north of the Abernethy Flats between Crame Col and Bibby Point on the shores of Brandy Bay .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 2006 after the geochemist Joanne S. Johnson (* 1977) of the British Antarctic Survey , whose work had led to a new methodology for discovering old ice sheets based on changes in mineral chemistry.
