Joie Lee (* 22. June 1962 in New York City as Joie Susannah Lee ) is an American actress , screenwriter and film producer .

Life and accomplishments

Joie Lee is a daughter of Bill Lee and sister of Spike Lee . She made her debut in a supporting role in the comedy Nola Darling (1986), which was directed by Spike Lee. In the musical film Mo 'Better Blues (1990) by Spike Lee, she starred alongside Denzel Washington , Spike Lee and Wesley Snipes as Indigo Downes .

In the comedy Crooklyn (1994) she played a supporting role alongside Alfre Woodard and Delroy Lindo , and she was - alongside her brother Cinqué Lee - as a screenwriter and producer. In the short film Snapped (2001) Lee worked as a director, screenwriter and producer. In the episode Twins of the episode film Coffee and Cigarettes (2003) by Jim Jarmusch , she and Cinqué Lee took on the lead roles of the twins. Together with Cinqué Lee, she wrote the script for the episode Jesus Children of America of the episode film All the Children of the World from 2005.
