Jojo Weiß (born May 5, 1969 in Augsburg - Haunstetten ) is a German comedian and entertainer .

Life

Weiß has lived in Berlin since 1991 . During his training as a stage actor, with a focus on artistry and physical comedy, he appeared regularly in the Berlin variety scene . The first venues were the Scheinbar's open stage, the Chamäleon Varieté and the UFA-Fabrik . His specialties are instrument and voice imitations, mouth trombones and bizarre sound effects that he creates with the help of his vocal cords and his hands. In 2002 he won the coveted " Annie Fratellini Trophy" at the "Cirque de demain" festival in Paris, together with his stage partner Andreas Wessels . The two played together at the Comedy Festival "Just for laughs" in Montreal , which Jürgen von der Lippe made known in Germany with "Lippe's Laughmix".

As a comic part of the successful German production "Vivace" (2001-2006), he was on stage in many countries around the world: including Zimbabwe (Haifa Festival 2004, Harare), Sweden (opening ceremony of the Helsingborg cultural center), England (National Theater Festival , London), Scotland (Edinburgh Fringe Festival), Austria (opening ceremony of Theater Oval, Salzburg), Italy (Theatro della Tosse, Genoa) and the USA (Seattle International Children's Festival). In 2004 "Vivace" was performed on Off-Broadway in New York (New Victory Theater) for a month .

Current

In addition to his stage work, Weiß has devoted himself to writing puns and poems for several years. As a comedian and presenter, he appears regularly in renowned variety shows and theaters.
