Jon S. Baird

Jon S. Baird (born November 1972 in Aberdeenshire , Scotland ) is a British film director , screenwriter and film producer .

Life

Jon S. Baird began his career with BBC Television .

Baird's feature Drecksau (2013), which he wrote, directed and produced, was based on Irvine Welsh's bestseller . The film won numerous awards and was screened at several international film festivals. In 2014, Baird directed three episodes of the Babylon miniseries for Channel 4 . In 2015, he was asked by HBO to direct an episode of their series Vinyl , which was created by Terence Winter .

In 2016 he directed the second episode of I'm Dying Up Here for Showtime . In 2018, Baird directed the feature film Stan & Ollie about comedy legends Laurel and Hardy with Steve Coogan and John C. Reilly in the title roles. For this he was with Jeff Pope and Faye Ward at the British Academy Film Awards in 2019 for Best British Film nominations
