Jonas Algimantas Paužolis

Jonas Algimantas Paužolis (born May 1, 1954 in Lazdyniškiai near Kriukai , Joniškis Rajongemeinde ) is a Lithuanian politician, vice minister and border guard, from 1992 to 1996 head of the Lithuanian Border Guard (VSAT), lieutenant colonel in the Soviet Army .

Life

After graduating from the Joniškis Middle School , he graduated from the Artillery School in Kijew in 1957 . He then served in the artillery until 1986 in the Soviet Army as a commissar in the district of Vilnius . From June 1990 he headed the Mobilization Department at Krašto apsaugos departamentas (KAD), from 1991 Deputy Director of KAD, from December 9, 1991 Deputy Minister of Defense of Lithuania , appointed by Prime Minister Gediminas Vagnorius . From July 16, 1992 to 1996 he headed VSAT.
