Jonas Dobkevičius (until 1885 Daukus ; born December 6, 1866 in Mieliūnai near Rokiškis , Wolost Svėdasai ; † July 23, 1934 in Medemrodė Manor , Akmenė Rajongemeinde ) was a Lithuanian politician.

Life

Jonas Dobkevičius graduated from the Šiauliai grammar school and studied at the University of Petersburg in 1893 .

From 1894 he worked in the bank in Saint Petersburg and from 1919 in the Ministry of Economy of Lithuania . From 1920 he was Vice Minister and 1922 Minister of Finance and Minister of Commerce and Industry of Lithuania . From 1933 to 1934 he was the Hungarian consul general in Lithuania.

He also headed the Lithuanian chess association “Lietuvos šachmatininkų sąjunga”.

His son Jurgis Dobkevičius was a pilot.
