Jonas Grutzpalk

Jonas Grutzpalk (* 1972 ) is a German sociologist and political scientist . He is a professor at the University of Police and Public Administration in North Rhine-Westphalia .

biography

Jonas Grutzpalk attended the Pascal-Gymnasium in Münster, the Liceo Linguistico "Regina Margherita" in Turin and the Liceo Classico "Plinio Seniore" in Castellamare di Stabia . At the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität in Münster and at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität in Bonn he studied political science, sociology, comparative religious studies and, for a short time, law. As a student in the Erasmus program , he spent a trimester at Trinity College in Oxford, UK , in 1995 . From 1994 to 2000 he worked for the Max Weber Complete Edition in the sub-project “Legal Sociology” in Bonn.

He completed his doctorate under Friedrich Fürstenberg on the violent discourses of German and French intellectuals in 2002. From 1998 he was a lecturer at the Universities of Bonn, Potsdam and Bielefeld, at the University of Economics and Law in Berlin and in the master’s course in “Police Management”.

Between 2003 and 2009 Grutzpalk was a consultant for " Protection of the Constitution through Enlightenment" in the Brandenburg Ministry of the Interior. Since January 2010 he has been Professor of Sociology, Political Science, Intercultural Competence and Social Science Methods at the University for Police and Public Administration North Rhine-Westphalia (HSPV) in Bielefeld.

Grutzpalk deals with studies of the sociology of knowledge , religion (including Islam and the Western world , "Jihad against the scholars") with questions of sociological anthropology, topics of police training and the work of security authorities.
