Jonas Urbach

Jonas Urbach (* 24. September 1982 in Mulhouse ) is a German politician of the CDU . He has been a member of the Thuringian state parliament since 2019 .

Life

Urbach passed the Abitur at the Tilesius-Gymnasium Mühlhausen in 2001 and then did community service in a social center of the VdK . From 2002 to 2008 he studied political science, modern history and public law at the University of Jena , then worked as a student assistant in the Thuringian regional office of the Junge Union and completed his studies in 2011 with a Magister Artium .

From 2011 to 2015 Urbach acted as regional manager of the Junge Union Thüringen. He has been a member of the CDU Thuringia regional executive committee since 2018 and chairman of the CDU in the Unstrut-Hainich district since September 2019.

Urbach has been a member of the municipal council in Anrode since 2009 and a member of the district council in the Unstrut-Hainich district . He has been chairman of the CDU district parliamentary group since 2014 and was the full-time mayor of the municipality of Anrode from 2015 until he moved into the state parliament in 2019.

In the state elections in October 2019 , Urbach was elected to the Thuringian state parliament as a direct candidate for the CDU in constituency 8 (Unstrut-Hainich-Kreis I) . He won the direct mandate with 31.1% of the first votes . In the state parliament he is a member of the committee for Europe, culture and media as well as the interior and municipal committee.

Jonas Urbach is Catholic, married and has one son.
