Jonathan Benteke Lifeka (born April 28, 1995 in Liège ) is a Belgian - Congolese football player .

Career

Benteke played for Standard Liège's U19 in 2013 before moving to CS Visé in the Belgian second division . After just one season he moved to the Belgian House of Lords, the Jupiler Pro League to SV Zulte Waregem. Here Benteke played 18 games and scored two goals.

On September 1, 2016, he moved to Crystal Palace in England. He made his Premier League debut on September 10th . In the 2-1 win on Matchday 4 over Middlesbrough FC , he came into the game in the 84th minute. A short time later, on September 29, Benteke suffered a serious knee injury, which made him sideline until the end of January 2017. In the following years he was no longer in the squad and left the club in July 2017.

This was followed by a short period from July to September 2017 without a club, after which he joined Omonia Nicosia . In the top Cypriot division, the First Division , he completed three games.

In February 2018, he went back to the island for Oldham Athletic . Benteke played one game in Football League One (3rd division) and after relegation in 2017/18 one league lower in Football League Two another nine games for Oldham.

From July to October 2019, we went looking for a club again. After completing a trial training at Alemannia Aachen, they took him under contract. On October 18, he made his debut in the 0-0 draw against SC Verl in the Regionalliga West . His contract with Alemannia runs until the end of the 2019/20 season.

Others

His older brother is the Belgian international Christian Benteke (* 1990). The brothers played together at Crystal Palace in the 2016/17 season. Jonathan was substituted on for Christian Benteke on his Premier League debut.
