Jonathan Pablo Bottinelli (born September 14, 1984 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine soccer player with Italian roots.
The central defender , who is sometimes used as a left full- back, comes from the youth department of CA San Lorenzo de Almagro . In 2004 he made the leap to the professional squad here. Bottinelli later became the team's captain.
Bottinelli had a large share in winning the Clausura 2007 , the tenth championship title of San Lorenzo . He was then courted by Betis Sevilla and city rivals Sevilla FC , but a change did not materialize. He finally moved to Sampdoria Genoa in August 2008 . Then he was loaned to his old club CA San Lorenzo de Almagro and then moved back again. He played for San Lorenzo until mid-2012 before getting the opportunity to join River Plate . While he was a regular there in the 2012/13 season, he was only used five times in the 2013 Apertura.
In early 2014 Bottinelli switched to CD Universidad Católica in Chile on loan . There he and his team finished the Clausura 2014 as runner-up. He then returned to River Plate, who transferred him to Club León in Mexico in August 2014 . His contract was not renewed after one season and he was without a club for six months before joining Arsenal de Sarandí in January 2016 . He has been playing for league competitor Unión de Santa Fe since mid-2017 .
On April 19, 2007 Bottinelli played his first international match for the national team of Argentina against Chile . In the spring of 2011 he was used in two more friendly games against Paraguay and Poland .
