Jonathan Sundy Zongo (born April 6, 1989 in Ouagadougou ) is a Burkinabe soccer player .

Career

society

Zongo began his career in his hometown of US Ouagadougou . In 2010 he moved to Spain to UD Almería , where he was first used in the third division team. He made his professional debut in January 2011 when he was substituted on in the 66th minute of the first leg of the Cup quarter-finals against Deportivo La Coruña . Around a year later, Zongo made his league debut against Gimnàstic de Tarragona in the Segunda División .

In May 2012 he was able to score his first two goals in the Segunda División after being substituted on in the home game against AD Alcorcón in the 72nd minute and so shot Almería to victory.

In the following season, Zongo was able to slowly establish himself in the professional team and celebrate promotion to the Primera División with Almería . After the rise of Almería, he made his debut in the top Spanish division in January 2014 in the home game against Granada CF. After two years in the Primera División, he had to go back to the second division with Almería at the end of the 2014/15 season.

National team

Zongo was appointed to the Burkinabe national team for the first time in 2013 . In August 2013 he made his team debut in a friendly against Morocco . Zongo was appointed to the squad for the African Cup of Nations 2015 , where he was only used in the first group game.
