Jonava Polytechnic School

The Polytechnic School Jonava (lit. Jonavos politechnikos mokykla ) is a polytechnic school with 500 students in Jonava , Lithuania . It was founded by the Ministry of Education of Lithuania . It was created in 2000 after two technical schools merged.

history

The 34th Jonava Vocational School was founded in 1965 and the 44th Jonava Vocational School in 1972. The founder was the Committee on Vocational Training of the Lithuanian SSR . The 34th Jonava Vocational School was prepared for construction professionals (finishers, plasterers, bricklayers , concrete builders , plumbers , joiners , carpenters ) and carpenters, joiners for the Jonava furniture company . The 44th vocational technical school prepared the specialists (in the chemical industry, machinists, workers with electrical equipment, fitters , welders ) trained for the chemical giant " Azotas ".

Since 1974, the two schools have been preparing the specialists with the secondary school leaving certificate and became vocational secondary schools . Both schools cooperated with schools abroad (in Grodno , Barchdmo ( Norway ), Riga PPP (Latvia)).

Graduates

  • Artūras Zuokas (* 1968), journalist and politician, mayor of the Lithuanian capital Vilnius.
