Jong Yong-ok

Jong Yong-ok (born January 24, 1981 ) is a North Korean marathon runner .

In 2000 she finished third in the Pyongyang Marathon , which she won the following year. In 2002 she was sixth in the Beijing Marathon , in which she came in ninth the previous year. In 2003 she was second in Pyongyang. At Xiamen International Marathon it was in 2004 and 2005 Seventh Fifth. A second place in the Pyongyang Marathon in 2006 was followed by a second victory in 2007, this time with a course record and a personal best of 2:26:02. In 2009 she was third in Pyongyang.

Jong has so far taken part in the Olympic Games marathon three times: in 2000 in Sydney she came in 20th place, in 2004 in Athens in 21st place and in 2008 in Beijing in 36th place. In the marathon of the World Athletics Championships in 2003 in Paris / Saint-Denis, she took place 56, at the marathon of the World Cup 2005 in Helsinki she finished 14th.

At half-marathon of the Universiade 2007, she won the bronze medal, 2008, she was runner-Asian on the marathon distance.
