Joninių slėnis ( Joninės Valley, Eng. ' St. John's Day Valley') is a breakthrough valley of the Varnaka River in the Lithuanian town of Jonava in the Kaunas district , between the Rimkai district , the Jonava Hospital , Jonavos Arena , Jonava Jewish Cemetery and Jonava Central Stadium .

Buildings and facilities

Many projects have been implemented for the urbanization of the valley, in particular with the financial support of the European Regional Development Fund of the European Union due to the EU regional policy in Lithuania. In the valley there is a fountain , an event stage with an amphitheater , built from 2012 to 2015. The Jonava winter sports center is also located here with a ski run and an elevator to the Rimkai hill.

Cultural meaning

The valley is a place for recreation, children and youth recreational activities in summer and winter. It is also known nationally as a place for numerous local, regional and even international events, various festivals (for example, choir festival "Ewiges Liedeslicht", "Summer in Jonava", Kaunasser "Music festival Pažaislis ", non-traditional folklore festival "Rasa" Lylio "etc.). In the valley each year which is St. John's with a fair organized day trips possible and final theatrical evening and night celebration.
