Jonnie Boer (born January 9, 1965 in Giethoorn , Overijssel ) is a Dutch chef , entrepreneur and specialist book author. Together with his wife Thérèse Boer-Tausch (* 1971) he runs the restaurant De Librije, which has been awarded three Michelin stars, and the Librije's Hotel , which houses the two Michelin-starred gourmet restaurant Librije's Zusje and the cooking and wine school Librije's Atelier . Both restaurants are located in the city of Zwolle in the Dutch province of Overijssel .

Career

Jonnie Boer started his career at De Librije in 1986 under the then owner Ed Meijers. At the age of 24 he became head chef. A year later, his wife Thérèse came to the restaurant as hostess and sommelier, which they bought together in 1992. In the same year he was awarded the first Michelin star. In 1997 Jonnie Boer published his first cookbook Pure . Two years later he received the second Michelin star and in 2004 he was awarded the third in De Librije . During these years he published other books, such as B. Purer Cookbook , Purely Natural , Natural Enjoyment , Pure Food and Drink , Wine & Food Pocket Bible and The world of . In 2005 he was named Chef of the Year by Gault Millau and listed with 19.5 out of 20 points. In the same year he also received the Order of Knights of the House of Orange-Nassau . In 2008 they opened Librije's Hotel , which is located in the former women's prison in Zwolle after an extensive renovation . A restaurant was also opened in the hotel, which was awarded one Michelin star in the same year and the second in 2011.
