Jordanita kurdica is a butterfly fromthe ram family (Zygaenidae).

features

The moths reach a forewing length of 15.5 to 17.0 millimeters in the males and 11.5 millimeters in the females. The head, thorax and abdomen shimmer golden green, the legs bluish green. The forehead ( frons ) is about 1.5 times as wide as the compound eyes . The antennae are bluish green, the antennae comb is four to five times as long as the width of the antennae. The sensors consist of 35 to 37 segments. The forewing tops are interspersed with light green and gold. The upper side of the hind wings and the undersides are light gray. The females are significantly smaller than the males and have significantly more rounded wings.

In the males the uncus is slender, the valves are long and slender and have a short triangular appendage ventrally . The aedeagus is straight, thickened and has a very large and broad cornutus.

In females, the ostium is as wide as the heavily sclerotized antrum, which is formed into a large sac. The ductus bursae narrows abruptly and is helically curved at a right angle at a third of the length of the antrum. The corpus bursae is small.

Similar species

Jordanita volgensis and Jordanita notata appear sympatric with J. kurdica . These species are very similar, but can be differentiated genitally morphologically .

distribution

The species is native to southeast Turkey and western Iran .
