Player career

Youth and B teams

Born in Catalonia, Jordi López started his career as a footballer in the youth team of FC Barcelona . From 2000 to 2002 he played for the Catalans' B team for two years until he moved to arch-rivals Real Madrid . There he played in his first season exclusively for Real Madrid Castilla and came in the Segunda División B used. In the 2003/2004 season he was brought into the first team, but he could not prevail and so he only came to two first division appearances at the end of the season.

Primera División

After the unsuccessful attempt at the "Royal", Jordi López moved to Sevilla FC . With the Andalusians he played half of the games, crowned by victory in the 2006 UEFA Cup final against FC Middlesbrough . To play more often, Jordi López changed teams again and so he was drawn to the Balearic island of Mallorca . Again just a year later, despite numerous appearances in the previous year, he was loaned out to league rivals Racing Santander . There he only played 14 times, so that he was not signed by the Cantabrians.

Experience abroad

After Jordi López was active in the second half of the Football League Championship 2008/09 for the English second division Queens Park Rangers , he moved to the beginning of the 2009/10 Football League Championship for the Welsh club Swansea City . His new club just missed the play-off round with a seventh place this season. Swansea also played for promotion to the Premier League in the Football League Championship 2010/11 , but López only came to sporadic appearances. In January 2011 he moved to Vitesse Arnheim in the Netherlands .
