Jordy Lemoine (born January 14, 1988 in Saint-Germain-en-Laye ) is a French musician and former child star , who with the song Dur dur d'être bébé! got known.

Life

Jordy's father is Clause Lemoine, who is best known in his home country as the producer of the French glam rock band The Rockets . His mother Patricia Clerget was a singer who released two albums in the early 1980s. Jordy also showed musical talent at an early age and sang along with the songs heard on the radio, which soon made him a popular figure at his parents' parties. This gave rise to his parents' idea to turn Jordy into a commercially recording musician.

In 1992 Columbia Records released the first single of the then four and a half year old Jordy, the dance song Dur Dur d'être bébé! (Eng. It's hard to be a baby ), which was to become a worldwide hit with chart successes in Australia and the United States, among others. The single sold over two million copies and stayed at number one on the French singles chart for 15 weeks, which also earned Jordy an entry as the youngest singer with a number one single chart placement in the Guinness Book of Records .

Over the next two years, Jordy released a few more singles and two albums, one mostly with Christmas carols . In 1994, however, the French government banned the now six-year-old Jordy from radio and television because there were increasing fears that the child would be exploited by his parents. These fears were reinforced again when his parents revenue from Jordy's publications in a farm called La Ferme de Jordy (dt. Jordy's Farm ) inserted, a children's tourist attraction, but was a financial failure. The farm had to close in 1996, and his parents divorced shortly afterwards. Jordy was later declared of age early.

In 2005, Jordy returned to the spotlight. He took part in the second season of the French reality TV show La Ferme des Célébrités , which he also left as a winner. On February 2, 2006, he published the book Je ne suis plus un bébé ( I am no longer a baby ), which he wrote together with his mother , in which he reports on his experiences in show business and criticizes his father. On February 28, 2006, he released Je t'apprendrai, his first single in twelve years.

Meanwhile Jordy is active in the punk rock band JOrDy and the Dixies .
