Jorg Christian Salzmann

Jorg Christian Salzmann (born February 3, 1956 in Osnabrück ) is a German Lutheran theologian.

Life

The son Christian and Christiane Salzmann studied Protestant theology in St Andrews , Oberursel (LThH), Göttingen and Tübingen . He was a research assistant (1983–1988) for church history and patristic theology in Göttingen and pastor (1990–1997) in Kassel . From 1992 to 1997 he had a teaching position at the Lutheran Theological University in Oberursel , where he has been Professor of the Old Testament from 1997 to 2005 and since 2005 as Professor of the New Testament . He has been married to Marion Ruth Weeks since March 31, 1984 (children: Tabea, Miriam, Edmund).

His main research interests are early Christian worship, the relationship between the Old and New Testaments and the interpretation of scriptures in the early church .
