Jorge Davino

Jorge Davino (born April 27, 1945 in Gran Buenos Aires ) is a former Argentine soccer player who played in attacking midfield . Jorge Davino, nicknamed Cholín in his native Argentina and known as Tarzán in his adopted country of Mexico because of his sturdy build, is the father of Duilio and Flavio Davino, who are also footballers .

Life

Davino grew up in Villa Fiorito , a community in the greater Buenos Aires area . He started playing football in the youth division of Boca Juniors , where he received his first professional contract in 1965 . In the same year he won the Argentine football championship with the Xeneizes .

The following year he played for the Colombian Millonarios FC and then returned to his homeland, where he was under contract with Huracán for two years . In 1969 he worked again in Colombia , where he won the Colombian championship title this time with Deportivo Cali .

In 1970 Davino was brought into the Mexican league by the Mexican goalkeeping legend Antonio Carbajal , who was coaching Club León at the time , where he played for the Esmeraldas in the years to come and won the Mexican Cup and the Supercup twice.

After his active career, Davino moved to Mexico, where he worked temporarily and with only moderate success as a trainer.
