Joris en de Draak (German: George and the Dragon ) is one in July 1, 2010 Efteling ( Kaatsheuvel , North Brabant , Netherlands opened) Racing - wooden roller coaster the manufacturer Great Coasters International . It has replaced the Pegasus runway , which was demolished in 2009 .
The two routes, whose names are Water and Vuur (Eng .: water and fire ), are each about 720 m long and reach a height of 25 m. The maximum speed is 75 km / h. The tracks are not exactly mirrored or the same as is usual with racing coasters. Sometimes the tracks run parallel, sometimes mirror-inverted. Joris en de Draak can therefore be seen as a mixture of racing and dueling coaster .
The theming is based on the legend of St. George . Georg saves the virgin king's daughter from a dragon by killing it. The theme is only set in scene by a large animatronic figure of a dragon. The stations are historically designed in a medieval style, Water in shades of blue and Vuur in red.
Trains
Joris en de Draak has two Millennium Flyer type trains with twelve cars each. Two people can be seated in each car. The facility offers a maximum capacity of 1700 people per hour. Passengers must be at least 110 cm tall.
