Jorum Okombo

Jorum Okombo , full name Jorum Lumbasi Okombo (born December 10, 1997 ) is a Kenyan long-distance runner .

Okombo has been competing in international road races since 2016. This year, in addition to the 15 kilometers of Kabarek ( Elgeyo-Marakwet County , Kenya) in 44:24 minutes, he also won the 10,000 meter run in Addis Ababa .

In 2017 he finished second in the half marathon at Venloop in the Netherlands with a time of 1:00:20 h . In May of that year in Le Puy-en-Velay he ran a personal best of 42:50 minutes over 15 kilometers. In his home country he ran the 10,000 m in 29: 16.7 minutes on May 19 in Eldoret (Kenya) and won At the beginning of September at the 8th Iten Road Race over 10 km. In mid-September he finished second behind Abraham Cheroben in the Copenhagen half marathon and ran a time of 58:48 minutes, which at that time brought him 6th place in the all-time world best list .

In 2018, Okombo again ran under 60 minutes in Ras Al Khaimah . In December of this year he ran at the Montferland Run in 's-Heerenbergh in the Netherlands over 15 km a time of 43:48 minutes

In February 2019 he started again in the half marathon in Ras Al Khaimah and finished in 1:02:31 h (16th place). In October of that year he ran at the Luso Meia Maratona in Lisbon and finished eleventh in what was only a moderate time of 1:03:41 h.

Okombo lives and trains in Iten, Kenya, in Elgeyo-Marakwet County .
