MAY conference
The MAI conference , MAI for museums and the internet , has been a two-day conference that has been held annually since 2001 . Thematically, she deals with the subject areas of museum studies that have to do with new media , in particular the Internet and mobile phone use . The conference organized by the Landschaftsverband Rheinland (LVR) always takes place in May, as the name implies.
The MAI conference is aimed primarily at employees from museums, exhibition houses and cultural administrations, but also from archives and libraries. The contributions are primarily devoted to current aspects of Internet use and mobile devices in the cultural field. The spectrum ranges from presentation, advertising, marketing and communication options to communication options via virtual exhibitions, online fundraising, publishing on demand, customer relationship and content management to questions of accessibility. Most of the conferences have a thematic focus. In addition to lectures, workshops are also part of the conference. The organization and coordination is carried out by the LVR regional cultural work department as well as the LVR archive advice and training center . Other institutions, generally from the changing venue, are involved in the organization, which changes every year. The conference leader is Thilo Martini.
There is a newsletter for the conference called MAI-Ling .
