José Carlos Solórzano Gutiérrez
José Carlos Solórzano Gutiérrez (born January 17, 1860 in Managua , † April 30, 1936 in San José (Costa Rica) ) was President of Nicaragua from January 1, 1925 to January 16, 1926 .
Life
He came to power as a candidate for the Partido Conservador Republicano . The Partido Conservador Republicano was founded by his predecessor in the office of President, Bartolomé Martínez González . Its vice-president was Juan Bautista Sacasa of the Partido Liberal . On October 25, 1925, Emiliano Chamorro Vargas of the Partido Conservador launched a coup d' état against Solórzano with the "el Lomazo" occupying the official seat of the President on the Loma de Tiscapa . Solórzano remained president, on January 12, 1926, parliament declared the post of Vice-President vacant and banished Vice-President Juan Bautista Sacasa from Nicaragua for two years, Solórzano resigned on January 14, 1926 and Chamorro took office on January 17, 1926 .
