José Isidro Gonçalves Maciel (born February 13, 1989 in Barcelos ) is a Portuguese cyclist.

Career

In 2011, José Gonçalves became Portuguese champion in the U23 individual time trial . The following year he repeated his success, but this time with the professionals. In 2013 he went to the French team La Pomme Marseille . For this team he won the Polynormande . In 2014 Goncalves won the overall ranking of the Volta a Portugal do Futuro , the junior tour of Portugal . In 2015 he moved to the Spanish team Caja Rural-Seguros RGA . He immediately won a stage win on the Tour of Portugal , which he repeated in 2016.

At the Vuelta a España 2015 he was recognized as the most combative driver on the second stage. In 2016 Goncalves won the tour of Turkey .
