José Ignacio Carbajal Gárate

José Ignacio Carbajal Gárate (born November 28, 1945 in Madrid , † November 22, 2017 ) was a Spanish diplomat .

Life

He studied law , entered the diplomatic service in 1968, was in the diplomatic missions of Spain with Joaquín Balaguer , Gustav VI. Adolf of Sweden with Elizabeth II and with Mohammed V of Morocco . In the State Department, he was Assistant Director of Consular Affairs for the North America Division. On June 19, 1970, Carbajal married Elisa Iranzo Arqués in the community of Nuestra Señora del Monte Carmelo .

From 1991 to 1998 Carbajal was head of the Asuntos Jurídicos y Consulares department in the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was responsible for a report on a draft law on the budget.

From 1998 to 2003 Carbajal was at the Spanish Embassy in Mexico City. He made his inaugural visit to Ernesto Zedillo Ponce de León on October 28, 1998.

With Decree 578/2003 of May 16, 2003, Carbajal was sent as ambassador to Canada and worked in 2004 at 74 Stanley Ave in Ottawa.

Comité Permanente Hispano-Norteamericano

With the decree 1567/2005 of December 23, 2005, Carbajal became the deputy of Manuel Calvo Freijomil, the chairman of the Sección Española des Comité Permanente Hispano-Norteamericano (CPHN). The CPHN was founded on December 1, 1988 under an agreement between the governments of Felipe González and Ronald Reagan . The institution dealt in 2005 with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service and the AFOSI .

From September 2009, Carbajal was Ambassador to the Court of St James’s . With the Decreto 1439/2009 of September 11th, 2009 he was promoted.
