José Izquierdo Martínez (born August 3, 1980 in Arnedo , Spain ) is a former Spanish football player .

Player career

Like many other players at CA Osasuna , José Izquierdo also came from his own youth. With the second team, in which he played over 100 games between 1998 and 2002, he made the leap into professional football. He made his first division debut on September 8, 2001 in the 3-0 away defeat at Villarreal . In over 100 games he was able to prove his talent in the first team. In the summer of 2008, his expiring contract with Osasuna was not extended by the club. Izquierdo then went to Gimnàstic de Tarragona in the Segunda División . A year later he joined UD Logroñés , which at the time was part of the Segunda División Bplayed. With the club he played in the upper midfield. In 2011 he joined Atlético Baleares , where he ended his career a year later.

His greatest sporting success so far was reaching the 2007 UEFA Cup semi-finals , when his club CA Osasuna lost to eventual winners Sevilla FC .
