José Desiderio Rodriguez Lima (born September 30, 1972 in Santiago , Dominican Republic , † May 23, 2010 in Pasadena , California , USA ) was a Dominican baseball player.

Lima, who held the position of pitcher during his playing days , played 13 seasons in Major League Baseball . He was a member of the Detroit Tigers (1994–1996, 2001–2002), Houston Astros (1997–2001), Kansas City Royals (2003, 2005), Los Angeles Dodgers (2004) and most recently the New York Mets (2006).

Lima played his most successful season in 1999. He posted 21 wins for the Astros and took part in the All-Star Game .

After his time in the MLB, Lima signed a contract with the Kia Tigers in the Korea Baseball Organization in 2008 . After mixed performance, Lima moved to the Golden Baseball League (GBL) for the Long Beach Armada in 2009 .

Lima died on May 23, 2010 at the age of 37 of complications from a heart attack at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, California.
