José Luis Abadín

José Luis Abadín (born March 13, 1987 in Ourense ) is a Spanish automobile racing driver . He competed in Formula 2 in 2011 and 2012 .

Career

Abadín began his motorsport career in karting in 2000 . In 2006 he debuted in the Formula Master Junior in Formula racing . After finishing eleventh overall in his debut season, he finished third in the championship in 2007. In 2008 Abadín moved to the Spanish Formula 3 championship for Novo Team ECA . He only took part in the first six race weekends and remained without points. In 2009 he switched to Drivex within the championship, which was called the European F3 Open from this season on, and took part in six of eight race weekends. While his teammate Celso Míguez was runner-up, Abadín finished 15th overall with a sixth place as the best result. Since he drove an older vehicle, he was also entitled to points in the Copa classification. He won this classification in three races and finished the season in third place in this classification. In 2010 Abadín played his third season in the European F3 Open for Drivex. He started five of eight race weekends and ended the season with a second place as the best result in seventh place in the championship.

In 2011 Abadín moved to the FIA Formula 2 Championship . He did not appear at three events. At the end of the season he finished 22nd overall. In 2012 Abadín stayed in Formula 2 and took part in the season opener.
