José Luis Guerrero

José Luis Guerrero Hernández (born August 24, 1945 in Celaya , Guanajuato ), also known by the nickname "El Gorras" is a former Mexican football player on the position of a striker .

career

After Cruz Azul had been promoted to the highest Mexican league in 1964 , "Gorras" Guerrero was one of the first signings, with which the Cementeros took a respectable eighth place (of 16 teams) in the 1964/65 season.

Until the 1970/71 season , Cruz Azul stayed in his home town of Jasso in the state of Hidalgo and played his home games in the 17,000-seat Estadio 10 de diciembre . It was only when the club moved to Mexico City in 1971 that the contractual relationship with Guerrero ended. Until then, Gorras Guerreros had won the championship title and the CONCACAF Champions Cup twice as well as the cup competition and the Supercup once with the Cementeros in 1969 and 1970 .

José Luis Guerrero is also currently working for his former club in his capacity as coordinator of the football schools for the various Cruz Azul farm teams .
