José María Pinheiro

José María Pinheiro (born July 31, 1938 in Nazaré Paulista , Brazil ) is a Roman Catholic clergyman and former bishop of Bragança Paulista .

Life

José María Pinheiro was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of São Paulo on December 27, 1964 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Guajará-Mirim and titular bishop of Cabarsussi on February 12, 1997 . The bishop of Guajará-Mirim, Geraldo Verdier , donated him episcopal ordination on April 19 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were George Marskell SFM , Prelate of Itacoatiara , and Bruno Gamberini , Bishop of Bragança Paulista.

On August 6, 2003 he was appointed auxiliary bishop in São Paulo. On March 9, 2005, he was appointed Bishop of Bragança Paulista, and on May 8 of the same year he was appointed. He resigned from his office on September 16, 2009.
