José Vázquez Schiaffino (born May 8, 1881 in Sayula , Jalisco , † 1958 ) was a Mexican ambassador .

Life

José Vázquez Schiaffino studied civil engineering at the Colegio de Minas der, the Escuela Nacional de Ingenieros in Mexico City. He was a professor of technical mechanics , strength engineering and descriptive geology at UNAM. In March 1915, Venustiano Carranza formed the Comisión Técnica del Petróleo , under the direction of Cándido Aguilar with Pastor Rouaix , Modesto C. Rolland (* 1881 Baja California Sur), Manuel Urquidi Márquez (* 1881 in Mexico City), Salvador Gómez and Alberto Langarica Pastor Rouaix was appointed Secretario de Industria and formed in this a petroleum department headed by José Vázquez Schiaffino and Joaquín Santaella. José Vázquez Schiaffino was a member of the Junta Consultiva del Petróleo founded by Adolfo de la Huerta in 1917 . He was the inspector of Mexican trade agencies in America and Europe. He was State Secretary in the Secretaría de Hacienda y Crédito Público . He was chairman of the board of directors of the Caja de Préstamos para Obras de Irrigación y Fomento de la Agricultura . In 1922 he was a representative of the Mexican government at the Exposição mundial Exposición Internacional del Centenario del Brasil in Rio de Janeiro . From August 31, 1925 to June 18, 1926 he was envoy to Norway and Denmark. From September 9, 1926 to November 16, 1929, he was envoy to Japan and China. In 1930 he was State Secretary in the Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores . From February 13, 1934 to March 1, 1936 he was envoy to Tegucigalpa . From April 30, 1936 to January 31, 1937 he was envoy to Port-au-Prince .
