Josef Anton von Riegger

Josef Anton Stefan Riegger , from 1764 Ritter von Riegger , (born February 13, 1742 in Innsbruck , † August 5, 1795 in Prague ) was a lawyer and historian.

From 1765 the son of taught Paul Joseph von Riegger as a lawyer at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau (1773-1774 as rector of the university), in 1778 he moved to Prague, where he received the title of royal Bohemian Gubernialrats was considered.

Riegger wrote numerous legal and historical writings. The research he founded on Freiburg humanism is of particular importance .
