Josef Augustinus Zemanek

Josef Augustinus Zemanek (born September 9, 1943 in Vienna ) is a Roman Catholic theologian and lawyer .

Life

He attended the Schottengymnasium from 1953 to 1961 . After graduating from high school in 1961, he studied philosophy and psychology in Munich from 1963 to 1966 , where he obtained a licentiate in philosophy, and from 1967 to 1971 law in Vienna, where he obtained a Magister iuris and then a doctorate in law. He worked in what was then the “Bausparkasse der Österreichische Sparkassen” as a manager.

From 1991 he studied Catholic theology in Vienna, where he wrote his diploma thesis in Old Testament biblical studies with Georg Braulik . Since 2003 he has been a lecturer for the electives of the Old Testament at Heiligenkreuz University . The doctoral program starting in 2003 at the University of Vienna he graduated in 2007 with the graduation to the Dr. theol. from.

Zemanek is married and has adopted two children with his wife.
