Josef Bachmayer

Josef Bachmayer (born September 7, 1940 in Lambrechte ) is a former Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and head of the Chamber of Labor. From 1991 to 2000 he was a member of the Burgenland Landtag .

After completing compulsory school, Bachmayer attended the three-year agricultural college in Rotthalmünster and was then adjunct in Bruck an der Leitha until 1964. He then worked from 1964 to 1973 as an insurance clerk and in 1973 joined the Chamber of Labor district office in Neusiedl am See , where he later took on the position of head of the office. In the political field, he became involved in 1971 as the local party chairman of the SPÖ Parndorf , becoming a local councilor and board member in 1972 and vice mayor in 1982. In 1987 he also took over the office of SPÖ district party chairman in the Neusiedl am See district . Bachmayr represented the SPÖ in the state parliament from July 18, 1991 to December 28, 2000.
