Josef Baldia

Josef Baldia (born August 22, 1845 in Vienna ; † February 26, 1912 there ) was an Austrian architect.

biography

Josef Baldia, who came from an environment characterized by craftsmanship, passed the journeyman's examination as a bricklayer in 1864 and worked as a draftsman in Ottakring from 1873 . He also attended the trade school. In 1876 he was able to set up his own business as a licensed master builder in Neulerchenfeld , part of what is now the 16th district of Vienna, Ottakring.

From 1882 Josef Baldia was the valuer for the kk judicial district Ottakring and from 1892 city architect. Between 1884 and 1888 he was also a councilor in Neulerchenfeld .

Professionally, Josef Baldia did not get beyond his home district. For public or other representative buildings, he mainly chose forms from the Renaissance period . Baroque elements were added later .
